What a day the edition number 49 of the Guarda Firenze, the second oldest race in the city, which launched several generations of Florentines to the race, organized by Firenze Marathon with the collaboration of Atletica Firenze Marathon.
After the restart last year and waiting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the event in the 2024 edition, were about 1500 participants, between adults and children (divided by the 10 km route and the Family 3 km) through the streets of the historic center.
Departure and arrival were in Piazza Duomo, with the start given by the Councillor for Sport of the City of Florence Cosimo Guccione, with Giancarlo Romiti president of the organizing committee of Firenze Marathon and general manager Diego Petrini to coordinate the staff. The president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani was instead in the running.

The first man to reach the finish line, after 35’31”, was Ayoub Bouras, first also last year, this year registered for Polisportiva Ellera; preceded Abdelouhaed Lablaida of G.S. Maiano and Andrea Nencioni.
Among the women first at the finish line the florentine Maddalena Pizzamano Athletics Florence Marathon in 41’45” in front of Elena Santi ASD Prato Promozione and Valentina Addorisio ASD Podistica La Medicea.

All participants were given the official Joma Guarda Firenze T-shirt with a special graphic created from a social contest held in previous months on the official Firenze Marathon channels with the most voted words related to the event Guarda Firenze. For children gadgets of official sponsors, Conad and InTempo.
Conad and San Benedetto provided the refreshments.
Schools with the highest number of participants were rewarded on stage with prizes including vouchers for teaching materials. In the order Villani with 84 participants (who had been second last year), San Pier Martire with 72, Collodi with 46, Pilati with 43 and Galileo with 31.

Next event organized by Firenze Marathon, Saturday, June 17 starting at 21 from Piazza Duomo, the 83rd edition of the Cetilar Run – Notturna di San Giovanni, the traditional and expected competitive race on the distance of 10 km homologated.
