PARTECIPATION AND REGISTRATION

According to the Rules for the Organization of Events for the year 2024 issued by FIDAL, are allowed to partecipate:

All the athletes regurarly register for an Italian sports club affiliated FIDAL (the FIDAL regulation allows the partecipation to all the athletes born since 2024 (20 years old).
All the italian and foreign athletes register for a foreign athletic federation affiliated with WORLD ATHLETICS in compliance with current regulations; in this case the athletes must provide the copy of the membership card or a self-certification in which they certify the possession of the membership

All the italian and foreign athletes resident in Italy and registered with a sports promotion body (EPS), from 20 years on, in possession of the RUN CARD EPS issued by FIDAL. Upon registration, participants must attach, in DataHealth web portal, a copy of the AGONISTIC MEDICAL CERTIFICATE (for the italian athletes) or the HEALTH FORM (for the foreign athletes) valid on 24 November 2024. The medical certificate can be uploaded after the enrollment too, always before the race day

All the italian and foreign athletes resident in Italy or abroad, from 20 years on, in possession of the RUNCARD issued by FIDAL. Upon registration, participants must attach, in DataHealth web portal, a copy of the AGONISTIC MEDICAL CERTIFICATE (for the italian athletes) or the HEALTH FORM (for the foreign athletes) valid on 24 November 2024. The medical certificate can be uploaded after the enrollment too, always before the race day

All the foreign athletes without any membership card can partecipate at the non-competitive race with tourist-sporting goals. Upon registration, partecipants must attach the LIABILITY WAIVER FORM. In this case the athletes will not be included in the FIDAL/WA ranking list and will not compete for the prize; the time taken will be communicated, but not the position in the standings.

It’s not allowed the partecipation of italian athletes, even if they are resident abroad, without any membership card. Upon collection the bib they must present the FIDAL or RUNCARD or RUNCARD EPS card valid.

Italian or foreign athletes with a RUNCARD or a RUNCARD EPS card may not benefit from cash prizes or similar circumstances (vouchers, bonuses, engagements), but they will be in included in the ranking of the event.

Participation of NON REGISTERED ATHLETES and/or without the health requirements certified and/or not registered and/or without the receipt of payment are not allowed.

Any rates reserved for sports groups and promoters, initiatives and promotions will expire on 15 October 2024.

Registration for the race will close on November 15, 2024; Florence Marathon reserves the right to temporarily suspend or close registration in advance for organizational reasons.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

The payment methods for the marathon registration are:

credit card (via Enternow circuit)
bank transfer (via Enternow circuit)

RACE CANCELLATION – FAILURE TO CARRY OUT

If the race is cancelled, moved to another date and/ or, in any case, not carried out for reasons not dependent and/ or not attributable to the will of the Organizers, including the revocation of the authorization to the performance by the competent public bodies, for any reason, the member will have nothing to expect from Florence Marathon or other co-organizers, not even by way of reimbursement of the costs incurred, by the subscription of the application for registration also as waiver of any claim for damages and/ or compensation and/ or any claim reinstatement and/ or/or the satisfaction of any financial loss suffered and suffered.
The organization will check the possibility of free transfer the following year (2025)

FAILURE TO PARTECIPATION

In case of non-participation in the competition, the registration fees are in no case refundable.
However, the athlete unable to participate in the race will be offered two alternatives to be communicated to the organization by November 8, 2024:

transfer the registration to the 41^ Firenze Marathon 2025 upon payment of a supplement of €25 for secretariat fees. You can take advantage of the transfer facility to the following year’s edition only once. The transfer of the registration to the 2025 edition cannot be combined with other discounts.
transfer the registration to another person upon payment of a supplement of €25 for secretariat fees. The new athlete must complete the registration form with all the personal information, the card details and the presentation of the medical certificate if needed. A new available bib number will be assigned, with access to the starting cage currently available. It is possible to take advantage of the transfer to another athlete only in the 2024 edition and in any case only once. The transfer of the registration to another person cannot be combined with other possible tariff reductions.

CONFIRMATION LETTER

Once the registration is completed, the athlete will receive a communication via email confirming registration. After that, once the registration has been verified, the confirmation letter will be sent only by email, showing the number of bib assigned, and with the indication of the registration status:

GREEN traffic lights: regular registration;
YELLOW or RED traffic lights: registration to be regularized with the indication of the missing documentation or to be supplemented (receipts of payment, membership card valid on the day of the race, Run Card, Run Card EPS, the medical certificate or the liability waiver form).

Confirmation letters will only be sent by e-mail.
The confirmation letter must be presented at the Florence Marathon Expo for the withdrawal of the race-bib along with the personal identity document and any documentation required.

RACE BIB AND RACE PACK COLLECTION

The athlete can pick up their bib on Friday 22 or Saturday 23, November , 2024 the Marathon Expo (details under definition)
For the collection it will be necessary to present your ID card, the confirmation letter (also on your smartphone or tablet) and any documentation required in the confirmation letter.

ASSIGNMENT OF RACE BIB

The assignment of the bib will be based on the date of receipt of the registration with payment. The race-bib number will be assigned from the first days of October.

STARTING GRID

The morning of the marathon to facilitate the flow of the start athletes will be introduced in the starting grids according to the personal best time declared during registration. Personal best time means the best time achieved in the last 2 years in an official marathon (42.195 km): it can be declared in the registration form. The organization reserves the right to check the time declared by the athlete and make the appropriate variations on the bib assigned if differences are found. The athlete can communicate any changes (or missed entries) of their personal best time by 10 November 2023. Communications received after that date will not be considered. Any changes will only be allowed upon presentation of appropriate documentation attesting the chronometric performance of the reference grid. Without the required documentation no communication will be considered. In case of not indicating the time on the registration form, the organization will be free to assign any starting cage according to their organizational needs. For the allocation of the starting grid is taken into account ONLY the time on the marathon and not the time on other distances (½ marathon, 30km etc…) For registrations received after 11/11/2023, the organization does not guarantee the correct allocation of starting cages.

STARTING PROCEDURE

The race bib is personal and it is forbidden to exchange it with other competitors, otherwise the athlete will be disqualified.
The bib should be attached to the shirt with which you race, in front and clearly visible. They can not be hidden under any circumstances, otherwise the athlete will be disqualified.

TIME LIMIT

The time limit to finish the 42.195 km is fixed in 6 hours. The time limit for the passage to the half marathon (km 21,097) is fixed in 3 hours. The time limit of passage to the km 30 is fixed in 4h15.
Athletes who run more than 8′ 30″ per km will be required to observe the rules of the road code.

CHIP AND TIMEKEEPING SERVICE

The timekeeping service will be performed by microchip by EvoData – Timing&dData Solutions that allows you to record the actual time you have achieved. The chip is strictly personal and cannot be exchanged.
The Gun Time will start with the shot of the starter at the start and will end with the pass on the finish line. The intermediate times of each athlete will be recorded at km 5 – 10 – 15 – 21,097 – 25 – 30 – 35 and 40 and will also be carried out additional surprise surveys to ensure the correct drafting of the rankings.

The chip will be placed on the back of the bib and must not be removed for any reason, otherwise it will be excluded from the ranking. NO CHIPS, NO TIME!

The chip must be returned in the appropriate boxes in the arrival area to our staff, even for athletes not started. For retired athletes, however, the return of the chip will also be possible along the path at the refreshment points. The chip can only be used for the Florence Marathon event for which it has been programmed.

Failure to return the chip will result in a debt of € 20 with the organization, which will reserve the right to charge it at the next year’s registration. In case of non-participation or withdrawal from the race, the chip must be sent to the organization within 40 days. FIRENZE MARATHON – Viale M. Fanti, 2 – 50137 Florence.
In case of loss, the amount of € 20 must be paid as compensation.

RESULTS

The official results, total and partial, recorded on Gun Time, will be published on www.firenzemarathon.it and on www.tds-live.com after the validation of the rankings by the Technical Delegate or Appellate Judge.

COMPLAINTS

Any complaints must be submitted in compliance with FIDAL and R.T.I.

BAG STORAGE

The bags will be deposited in the predetermined area in spaces prepared for this service, divided into groups of bib starting at 07.00. The appropriate bag will be deposited within the areas by the service staff. It is mandatory to use the bag provided by the organization, which must be marked with the appropriate sticker of your bib number. It is forbidden to use the means wardrobe as a dressing room. Please do not leave valuables in the cloakroom service (we are not liable for theft).
The organization will provide you with a plastic cape that will be useful in case of rain or strong wind.

AWARD CEREMONY

The first three men and the first three women will be awarded.

PHOTOGRAPHIC RIGHTS

By signing the registration form to the 40^ Florence Marathon, the athlete, from now on, expressly authorizes the organization to use free images, still and/ or moving, portraying his person and taken on the occasion of his participation in the Florence Marathon.
This permission to use your image is intended to be granted indefinitely and without territorial limits worldwide, for use in various publications and films, including, but not limited to: promotional and/ or advertising materials and made on all media. The organization may also assign to third parties, its institutional and commercial partners, the rights of use provided for in this agreement.

STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY

By signing the registration form the athlete declares to know and accept the rules of the 40^ Firenze Marathon, published on the website www.firenzemarathon.it. It also expressly declares under its own responsibility, not only to have declared the truth (art. 2 law 04/01/1968 no. 15 as amended by art. 3 paragraph 10 law 15/05/1997 no 127), but to exempt the organizers from any liability, both civil and criminal, for damage to persons and/or property caused by or derived from him.

FINAL WARNING

The Organization of Firenze Marathon reserves the right to amend this regulation in compliance with covid-19 and FIDAL pro-tempore regulations in force.
Any changes to services, places and times will be appropriately communicated to athletes registered through the confirmation letter, or will be reported on the website www.firenzemarathon.it.
For anything not provided for by these rules, the statutory technical rules of FIDAL and G.G apply.
