75th Notturna di San Giovanni

Yet another resounding success of the organization of Deejay Ten by Firenze Marathon! 11700 runners – almost all wearing purple, the color of our football club – went racing through the streets of Florence, and now the countdown to St. John's Evening Run, is well underway. It is the highlight of the first half of the season, the second oldest race in Italy, and the one that competitors look forward to most of all. This 10 km competitive race par excellence, as well as the 4 km Family Run, will take place at 9 p.m. on Saturday, 21 June, departure and arrival line in the Cathedral Square.

As from tomorrow, after on-line entry registration has begun, entries can be made by the usual procedure at: Firenze Marathon, Viale Fanti 2 (from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.); Isolotto dello Sport, in Via dell'Argingrosso 69 a/b; Training Consultant in Via Fra Giovanni Angelico 6; and, only for the non-competitive run, at the Universo Sport stores in Florence and at I Gigli (Campi Bisenzio). Lists will close absolutely no later than 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 20 June. Entries will also be accepted (but only for the Family Run) in the Cathedral Square on the day, so long as bib numbers are available. All participants will receive the traditional Asics t-shirt (this year with exclusive design by the Florentine artist, Marcello Paoli) that athletes will surely want to add to their collection.

Last year, 2500 participants took part in the race through the streets of the center of town adequately cordoned off, with crowds of people both from Florence and elsewhere cheering them all the way. Entry lists had to be closed ahead of time as all the race numbers had been used up. Best, therefore, get ready and register early on to avoid disappointment!
